This Sunday, August 7, is a good occasion to enjoy a sunny and musical brunch with the Sunday Jazz Brunch along the Riverwalk in Fort Lauderdale (11am - 2pm).

One of the most popular recurring events in Fort Lauderdale, the JM Lexus Sunday Jazz Brunch is an outdoor series of live jazz concerts happening every first Sunday of each month (with a few exceptions) along the Riverwalk promenade on Las Olas Riverfront Blvd.

Organized by the Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment District, the Sunday Jazz Brunch has become an institution, where locals and tourists get together for the love of good food and good music.

Jazz Bands & Food Vendors Team Up at Riverwalk

Armed with blankets, beach umbrellas, long chairs and fully loaded picnic baskets, people enjoy a relaxing and friendly moment around Esplanade Park while enjoying the smooth live music of local jazz performers such as Blues Therapy & Jazz, or Riverside Dixieland Band.

If you're running out of time to prepare your own picnic, rest assured that many food vendors will be available along the Riverwalk to satisfy your urges.

One of our favorite address remains Marti's New River Bistro, which holds a Sunday Jazz Brunch special, while at least a dozen more options await you in the Downtown Himmarshee Village along 2nd Street, between SW 1st Ave and SW 4th Ave.

Getting to the Sunday Jazz Brunch is always possible by car, and you can park at the Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment District parking garage (S.W. 5th Avenue) or at the County Garage (SW 2nd St. between SW 2nd Ave & Brickell Ave).

A better option is to use public transportation, and preferrably with the Riverwalk Water Trolley or any of the many Water Taxis that can let you off at Esplanade Park, Las Olas Riverfront, and other locations to enjoy the waterways of Fort Lauderdale and find out why it's called the Venice of America.

For more information on the Sunday Jazz Brunch, visit the official website of the City of Fort Lauderdale, but since it's unfortunately often down, you can also try the website of the local association Go Riverwalk, or give a call to (954) 828-5363.
