Mix Pleasure and Culture at Miami's Deering Holiday Wonderland
The Deering Estate at Cutler, a 444-acre environmental, archaeological and historical preserve located at the edge of Biscayne Bay, will be opening its door for its annual Deering Holiday Wonderland from December 1 to January 6.
Tourists and local families are invited to discover the many historical and natural features of the estate in a new wintery light and participate in the many events planned during the coming month.
As the Estate celebrates the holiday season, historical houses will bathe in christmas lights and decorations, offering an unusual perspective on the iconic buildings of the Floridian architecture that are the Stone House and the Richmond Cottage through December 31st from (10 am - 4 pm).
Among various christmasy activities, the Deering Estate will feature a Tree Lighting Ceremony (Dec. 2), a Holiday Lights show (Dec. 14), and a Holiday Bay Cruise (Dec. 8), as well as two exhibits (“Historic Holidays”, and “Formal and Fanciful Works by Ramon Casas”) during the entire event.
The Deering Estate also hosts many activites for families (canoe tours, butterfly walks, guided nature hikes...) and daily tours of the historic houses.
On Sunday, December 4, you are invited to bring your pets (cats, dogs) to the Santa Paws @ the Park (free admission), or even adopt one for a reduced fee, and have it take a picture with Santa! If you adopt a pet right then, you will be able to take the pictures home for free.
