Miami's Swim Fashion Week Hotter Than Ever At Funkshion 2016
Just for this week from Wednesday, July 13 through Sunday, July 17, Miami will be the fashion center of the world as the four-day Funkshion 2016 Fashion Week takes over Miami Beach with iconic swimwear brand's display of their latest creations through dozens of free-to-attend fashion shows.
Staged amongst Miami Beach's Art Deco-inspired surroundings and architecture and breathtaking natural spaces, this year's Funkshion Fashion Week is getting bigger, better, and hotter than ever as the large tents devoted to fashion shows double in size on Collins Ave. between 21st and 22nd Street.
"Swim Week is just another example of how Miami Beach has cemented its place as a premier international hotspot for every type of visitor," says Peggy Benua, Chair, Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (MBVCA). "Guests can enjoy the beach, visit museums, sample the famous restaurants and bars, and in July they can also attend first-class fashion shows; very few cities can offer all of this."
The Funkshion Fashion Week Miami 2016 is not just for professionals, wannabe models and hardcore fashionistas, as anyone can freely attend any and all of the many runway shows and partys which have made Miami's Fashion Week hot reputation.
And while Funkshion Fashion Week Miami will be the most anticipated event and main center of attention, there are many other ways to enjoy yourself at Miami Beach.
FUNKSHION 2016 Fashion Week Miami Beach
Funkshion Fashion Week is coming back for the 13th time around to Miami Beach, a new milestone for Aleksandar Stojanovic, Executive Director at Funkshion. "It has been incredible to witness the dramatic evolution that we have seen for the past 10 years at Funkshion," Stojanovic said.
This year's event will take place in three different locations: The Setai Hotel, The Nautilus Hotel, and of course the Funkshion Tent which will be the largest climate controlled state of the art venue, located at Collins Park (between 21st and 22nd Street) nearby the Bass Museum.
MIAMI SwimShow 2016
If you're looking for the latest and greatest in fashion swimwear, look no further than Miami's SwimShow which is where the swim and resort wear industry is gathering at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
From July 16-19, thousands of buyers from over sixty countries will participate in the planet's largest swimwear tradeshow as 2,500+ top brands, such as Mara Hoffman, Roxy Pop Surf, Suboo, and Wildfox Swim will present and commercialize their latest collections.
Other Swim Week Fashion Show & Parties
Unlike many other exclusive yearly festivals, the Miami Swim Week makes extra efforts to make sure everyone can enjoy themselves, and not just the rich and famous. Even if you're not a VIP, you can surely find events and parties to attend, including totally free-of-charge ones.
Last year, the Sagamore Hotel featured free makeup parties with Bobbi Brown, along with a fun pool party. The Freehand Miami is another spot that is open to public, featuring a great bar and a pool, so you might want to check with them for upcoming free parties as well.
This year, the Sagamore Hotel will again host many shows and parties, but other locations will also compete for the informal title of best Swim Week spot, among which Delano South Beach, the W Hotel, and the New World Center.
Finally, don't forget to cruise around Miami Beach and its night scene as many clubs and bars, such as the LIV Nightclub, will feature awesome parties with awesome DJ's and swimsuit fashion shows.
