One of Florida’s most popular destinations, the John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) tells the epic story of the U.S. space program – from the first day through the present.

The 70-acre arena, a gateway to a working space center, takes visitors on a journey that’s both entertaining and educational, interactive and inspirational.

There are thousands of exciting things to explore. Visitors can stand nose-to-nose with the real Space Shuttle Atlantis and witness an actual rocket launch in person. Astronaut Encounter gives you the opportunity to meet a veteran astronaut in real life.

The Apollo/Saturn V Center features an actual Saturn V moon rocket. There’s much more: 3D IMAX® space films, Exploration Space®: Explorers Wanted and many other interactive exhibits.

INSIDER TRAVEL TIPS

• Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is open year-round, seven days per week. The Visitor Complex opens at 9 am and closing time varies per season.
• Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is located near Orlando and Daytona Beach. Locate the Visitor Complex with GPS by inputting Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Do not use Kennedy Space Center as it will direct you to an incorrect location. You may also find the Visitor Complex with GPS coordinates, 28o31'34.10"N and 80o40'45.12"W.
• Kennedy Space Complex is a full-day experience, so plan on spending 6-8 hours.
• General Bus Tours are included in daily admission and start at 10 am. Buses depart continuously every 15 minutes throughout the day.
• Parking spaces are available for motorcycles, cars and oversized vehicles. Parking is paid at the parking booth(s) at time of entry.
• Daily tours are approximately 2 hours in length. The last tour daily departs at 3:30 pm. Bus schedule subject to change due to rocket launches, special events and weather. Call (866) 737.5235 for more information, 8 am - 6 pm EDT.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

• Built in 1967, today the KSC Visitor Complex is one of Central Florida’s most popular tourist destinations.
• More than 1.5 million visitors each year experience their very own space adventure at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex by exploring exciting past, present and future of America’s space program.
• The Visitor Complex features a wide variety of exhibits and activities related to the space program, including guided bus tours of KSC and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
• The Astronaut Memorial honors NASA’s heroes who sacrificed their lives to space exploration in seeking the greater good of humankind.

EXPLORING KENNEDY SPACE CENTER

• There’s no better way to get a glimpse of Kennedy Space Center than on one of the KSC daily bus tours, departing every 15 minutes from the Visitor Complex as experienced tour guides will take you past the most famous NASA landmarks.
• Exhibits such as Early Space Exploration and Exploration in the New Millennium transmit the history of space exploration since its beginning all the way into the far future.
• Mad Mission to Mars 2025 is a fun-filled, live-action stage show that guides you on an interactive journey through space to visit the planet Mars with 3D animated effects and lively characters.
• The Children's Play Dome is a space-themed playground where children can play astronauts, hop on a spacecraft, explore rocket tunnels, slide on the Moon, and climb a moonrock-like wall.

• The Atlantis Theater tells the story of the iconic Space Shuttle Atlantis throughout 60 interactive exhibits, and hosts the shuttle itself displayed in mid-flight.
• The Apollo/Saturn V Center unravels the mythical story of man's first steps on the moon, presents the awe-inspiring, colossal 363-foot Saturn V rocket that made this unprecedented human adventure possible, and event lets you touch an actual moon rock.
• The Rocket Garden lets you contemplate the most impressive technological giants of the 20th century, exhibiting every rocket that made NASA's history, including the first manmade spacecraft to ever break free from Earth's gravity.
• The U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame also presents the world’s largest collection of personal astronaut mementos, historic spacecrafts, and astronaut training simulators.

Being an Astronaut for a Day

• Several times a day, you can meet with NASA astronauts and veterans at the live Astronaut Encounter for an unforgettable half-hour face to face with interactive Q&A.
• Included in your admission price, at least two 3D IMAX® space-themed films a day will bring you to the edge of your seat thanks to eye-popping 3D technology that will make you feel like you are actually floating in space.
