Halloween is just around the corner and Miami is getting hectic in preparations and early parties as jack-o'-lanterns, scary ghouls and mean witches fill the streets of the Magic City.

To help you have the best of time this Halloween 2016, Miami Consultants has put together a short list of the 10 very best FREE parties to attend this week-end. 

We're starting off with the three free-to-attend major Halloween Events at Wynwood, Miami Downtown, and Lincoln Road, where most of the action will happen for free-spirited adults, but read along and find out about more great events to celebrate the Day of the Dead.

WYNWOOD HALLOWYN BLOCK PARTY

Miami’s trendiest neighborhood Wynwood Arts District is defintely the number one hot spot to watch for this Halloween weekend.

Free to attend, HalloWYN promises to be Miami's best Halloween Block Party with more than two dozens of food trucks featuring the best local cuisine and trick-or-treat goodies, video DJs spinning hot tracks with visuals on a giant screen, and everything you could expect from such an event, from costume contest to all-night partying.

With registration opening at 7pm, the HalloWYN event will feature at 10PM a screening of the classic movie Rocky Horror Picture Show. at 10pmbe eligible to win $500 in prizes for the most creative choice.

Cherry on the cake, you can win a free drink by registering online, and even a $500 grand prize if you win the Costume Contest.

MIAMI DOWNTOWN FRIGHT NIGHT

The Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA) and SWARM are teaming up to throw a gigantic Halloween extravaganza in Downtown Miami, starting this Saturday, October 29.

The Downtown Fright Night : A Halloween Spooktacular block party welcomes local residents and visitors of all ages as soon as 3pm all the way to 2am, as East Flagler Street will be closed off to traffic to ensure a fully pedestrian experience.

Definitely family-oriented during the day, Downtown Fright Night will feature kid activities such as trick-o-treating of course, as well as face painting, inflatables, arts and crafts, and a "Costume Clinic" at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

The in-house radio station Radio Lollipop will progressively set the stage for a more adult-like evening rythmed by the sounds of DJ Laz and others on the main stage at the end of E. Flagler St, accompanied by classic horror films screenings (including the Rocky Horror Picture Show) and adult-only costume contests.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT ON LINCOLN ROAD MALL

Just like every year, the Lincoln Rd Mall is throwing a hell of a party for Halloween, and 2016 will be no exception to the rule.

This year, Lincoln Rd Halloween Night will offer a one-of-a-kind chance to discover famous Miami-based performance troupe Circ X who will display a masterful mix of outrageous antics and theatrical circus, indeed a natural headlining choice for the night of the dead.

Family-friendly actvities will begin at 5pm featuring costumed stilt walkers, and face painting for all trick-o'-treaters.

That's not all though, as a dozen world-famous DJs will be performing from 8pm until late across no less than 5 stages scattered throughout Lincoln Rd, from Alton Road to Washington Avenue.

Movies will be the stars as the classic ensemble will play famous scores from blockbusters such as King Kong or Star Wars, and will also perform special renderings of classical music with a creepy twist, while all attendees are encouraged to bust out their best Halloween costumes.

SPOOKTACULAR GRAND OPENING AT DOWNTOWN DORAL

This Halloween week-end is a great time to discover one of Miami's most stylish neighborhood as The Shops at Downtown Doral present their Spooktacular Grand Opening party.

You and your family are invited to trick-or-treat through Downtown Doral's newest restaurants and shops, admire the skilled Downtown Doral Charter School Elementary cheerleaders, or take a scary selfie at the photo booth.

Kids will be able to enjoy complimentary face painting, play with a balloon artist will, and get special gifts and giveaways if they make it among the first five hundred to show up.

AVENTURA'S HALLOWEEN MONSTER MASH

The City of Aventura puts together a Monster Halloween Mash at Founders Park featuring a costume parage, bounce houses, interactive games, and many more activities starting at 4:30pm.

Food trucks will be on hand for Halloween special treats and meals, but be aware that neither beverages nor pets are allowed in Founders Park during the event.

After the costume parade and the traditional trick or treat trail, the recent PG-rated movie “Ice Age: Collision Course” will be screened at 7pm, with free seating on the lawn (byo blankets & chairs).

RIVER YACHT CLUB HALLOWEEN PARTY

The River Yacht Club, a unique art-centric venue in Miami featuring three main indoor/outdoor decks, is kicking off its season with a Halloween special edition of its "Rock my Boat" Sunday brunch.

Book a table for brunch and you will be able to dance all night long at the "no cover" party.

DJ Alex Orue, regular host of the Detox show on Revolution Radio Miami will be in charge of the musical ambiance for costumed dancing guests.

Mall of the Americas’ annual Halloween BASH

Everyone is invited at the Mall of the Americas annual Halloween celebration this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for two hours of fun every day for children ages 10 and under.

The not-so-scary Gigi the Witch will organize games for the kids on the center court's main stage, and will lead the pack to a giant trick-or-treat hunt in all the participating stores.

Costumes are highly encouraged, however no mask will be allowed inside the mall and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Spooktacular Halloween at Dolphin Mall

The Dolphin Mall is also throwing its yearly Spooktacular Halloween party at Sweetwater, featuring events for all ages.

Animations will be provided by a "boo-loon" artist and a "boo-you" magician to celebrate the Halloween weekend.

Pérez Art Museum Miami PAMMoween Celebration

Maybe less known that other art museums, the Pérez Art Museum Miami is a great modern and venue, and there isn't a better time than Halloween to do so.

Just don your best costume (no mask allowed) to get a free museum admission ($16 value) to the Pammoween Celebration 2016, and participate in a whole "not-so-spooky" afternoon of family fun.

The musuem organizes an eerie gallery scavenger hunt inside and out, among Halloween-themed cookie decors, enjoy free face painting, take your best picture at the photo booth and more.
