Sea folks in The Florida Keys know how to put out a show when christmas time is upon them, and this year will be no exception as boat parade season draws to a close. Come and celebrate the best of all of them, the Key Largo Boat Parade 2016 which will take to sea this Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Blackwater Sound.
Key West, Marathon and Colony have all celebrated their own events last week-end, but the Key Largo parade is on schedule for this Saturday to steal the show with a magical display of glowing and flickering vessels under the command of Black Caesar Grand Marshal.
For those who'd like to participate in Key Largo's Boat Parade 2016, all boats are welcome from 60-foot yachts to one-person kayaks. A preparatory Captain’s Party will be held this Friday, December 16, at 6:30 p.m at Senior Frijoles (Mile Marker 103.9). All participating boats will be entered in a $500 cash drawing.

All boats are expected to line up at 6:30 pm at the headpin to Dusenbury Ck. on Blackwater Sound. The parade itself is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. from the mouth of Dusenbury Creek, (channel marker 41) on Blackwater Sound, and will head north along Gilberts' shoreline.
For viewers, the best spots to enjoy the Boat Parade are Senor Frijoles and Sundowners, with great additional viewing areas around the Jimmy Johnson’s Big Chill, Caribbean Club, the Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort, between mile markers MM 103 and MM 104.
An alternate date is planned on Sunday (5 p.m.) in case of bad weather, but that should not happen as Saturday looks fine with only 20% chances or rain (82°F, 14mph winds).
