The Pinecrest Gardens in Miami will host its 4th Annual Chili Cook-off on Saturday, February 6, from Noon to 4pm, featuring live country music and many country-style activities for the whole family.

For the first time this year, the venue "Chili in the Village" in Pinecrest Gardens will be the center of attention with a big culinary battle between professional cooks for the Florida State Championship Cook-off, a qualifying event for the World Championship Chili Cook-off under the patronage of the International Chili Society.

Another contest will be reserved for local amateurs to show off their chili cooking skills in three different categories: regular chili, chili verde and salsa. To enter the contest, you will need to fill out an Official Contestant Application Form which you can find online here.

Besides the Florida State Championship and amateur cook-off contests, the event will be rythmed by live country honky-tonk bands and heat Dancers. Attendees are encouraged to test their skills at line-dancing and mechanical bull riding, while a good old hands-tied pie-eating contest will put stomachs to the test.

Naerby parking is available at Palmetto Senior High, Pinecrest Elementary, and Christ the King Church, with complimentary shuttle service provided to and from the Pinecrest Gardens.

General Admission is $5, but children under 2 and Pinecrest members can enter the festival FREE of charge.
